As After BrattyBen told me of his black stroke theory, I gave it a try and here's what came out. The foreground characters popped out a lot more and the cartoony look I was trying to give it came out. I probably was trying to give it a more "blended" old style mood to it in the first version but I love this stroked version too.
Hi; just thought that i'd let you know your art has been featured in Avengers Assemble! A tribute article i've put together for The Avengers and its many a member.
for sure man, im always a fan of stroked images, as i use it alot as well... It works very well with your images and definitely adds a new dimension. nice job man, im diggn'em both but this one more.
Yeah, I love this. This is exactly what it needed. I think the thing was that your colors and gradients were so great, it seemed like there was nothing containing them. They seemed a bit "airy".
The stroke really helps define the shapes of the figures, and sets up a nice foreground and background plane.
Funny how something so simple can make all the difference.
I'm glad I could help out.
